Following the success of the 8,000 sq. ft. permanent exhibit of the same name, Luci Creative was asked by the Museum of Science and Industry to develop a traveling version of the STEM-focused, fully-immersive math and nature exhibition.
Organized into three major zones – a theater, a pattern maze, and a discovery area – the exhibit introduces visitors to fractals, spirals, the Golden Ratio, and Voronoi patterns found in nature, art, music, and architecture. The centerpiece, an 1,800 sq. ft. mirror maze, is a system of equilateral triangles highlighting symmetry, repetition, and tessellation. The discovery area includes numerous hands-on and media-based interactives.
The traveling exhibition was designed and built for easy crating, quick set-up, and tight storage. Tensile fabric structures, modular graphics, forklift-friendly bases, and Erector Set-like connectors allow the exhibit to be easily set up in a matter of days.
The exhibit traveled to Museum of Science Boston, Arizona Science Center, and Springs Preserve Las Vegas in 2018.
In 2019, A Mirror Maze will be at Science World, BC Canada.
