Halls of the Pacific
Visit sacred artifacts from the distant past

Journey halfway around the world and into the past to see the objects used in secret ceremonies of the indigenous Pacific Islanders. The Halls of the Pacific at the Field Museum of Chicago contain spectacular masks, intricate woodcarvings embellished with plant fibers and colorful dyes, and ritual sculptures that blend art, theater, and dance with deep social and spiritual meaning. We designed six lighted columns that act as a wayfinding tool for visitors within the gallery. Each column distinguishes an Island group by incorporating map locations, and graphic details of a relevant artifact.
