Luci Creative and Ravenswood Studio were hired to develop, design, and fabricate a highly interactive and themed climbing structure for a new exhibit space at the Hands On! Discovery Museum in Gray, Tennessee. The Museum recently took ownership of the Gray Fossil Site, and is in the process of turning the site into a vibrant and immersive family destination. The climbing structure includes an entrance and exit on the first floor, and rises above the railing on the second floor. The central core is a scenic geological-layered slab with the climbing structure surrounding it. The faux-earth layers support the emphasis on Miocene era fossils. Several ‘Easter eggs’ are scattered throughout the layers in the form of fossils, imprints, and rock samples.
