From humble immigrant beginnings, hand shelling pecans, to a million-dollar company and a leading provider of nuts, the story of the John B. Sanfilippo & Son Company is visually told through a map of the world made out of real nuts.
The map is a highlight of the heritage exhibit at the corporate headquarters, where the stories of the company’s 90-year history its worldwide leadership in the nut industry are told. The design of the exhibit was informed by the company’s family-oriented culture and values. Photos, text panels, and artifacts were placed on credenza-like shelves made of pecan wood, to mimic the table displays of photos that family members might have at home.
